My background is Cinema, which is the antithesis of words. And in each acting class I ever took, students were always taught to ignore the words and reach for meaning and expression beyond words. So, considering my education, background and creative approach, It’s strange for me to have my work on this website, but I am very thankful to have a few of my videos posted. Thank you.

In this video, I was most interested in the shapes of the letters — not so much the meaning of words.

Very interesting, Viv. Here’s how the Wikipedia article on concrete poetry begins:

Concrete poetry or shape poetry is poetry in which the typographical arrangement of words is as important in conveying the intended effect as the conventional elements of the poem, such as meaning of words, rhythm, rhyme and so on.

Dave, I’ve never heard of this genre — thanks very much for the link. I might try this style again, but this time being conscious of it as a specific art form. Thank you.
